A Message For Fathers
"The glory of children are their fathers" (Prov. 17:6).
Building an image for your children to look up to and try to imitate is a major responsibility of being a father. It is a 24-hour-a-day challenge and it begins the minute you bring that bundle home from the hospital. It is not an easy task to mold a person, but it is exciting.
When molding something, the finished product can be no better than the original mold. If our lives are filled with flaws, our children will turn out the same way.
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Prov. 22:6). This is the whole key to being a successful father. The secret is for us to know "the way." Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me" (John 14:6).
Do you know Jesus? If you do, you have all the resources you need to be the kind of father the Bible talks about. If you do not, you need to right this minute ask Jesus into your heart to show you the way.
You can be the best-liked, most successful man in your vocation. You can be a member of a church board or give large sums to worthwhile causes. But if your home is not in order, you are not a success in God’s eyes.
You can be a success. The choice is up to you.
Fathers, Take Time!
Take time to stay – Your children need you, not just your financial aid.
Take time to play – It will not be long before they do not want to play with you.
Take time to pray – Be the spiritual leader that God meant you to be.
