Give Ourselves Wholeheartedly
By W. A. Peterson
Let us reflect on the question that Peter raises: "If all things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be" (2 Pet. 3:11).
We should never forget that first event in heaven, the Judgment Seat of Christ, since it is so important for us as far as eternity is concerned. Meanwhile we should give ourselves wholeheartedly to the Lord every day until we stand in His presence. It is not a matter of doing well, or as well as somebody else, or even as well as our sister or brother in our assembly. The Lord is only interested in whether we have done our best, with the best motive, out of love for Himself.
Let us be thankful to God that we shall all have praise of God, but let us ensure that we are not saved so as by fire with nothing of gold, silver or precious stones to lay at the feet of the Lord Jesus.
