O God, Come Down To Us!

    Today the forces that make for unrighteousness are mighty in the land. Our churches for the most part are sluggish and indifferent, and the tides of godlessness beat about our feet and threaten the foundations of our hopes. Lawlessness lifts its head defying society and government. Our missionary zeal is waning and our passion for souls is growing cold.

    Unless God mightily intervenes there is only disaster ahead. Not all the diplomacy of statecraft, not all the wisdom and genius of our business leaders, not all the theories of economists or changes in government are going to avail. God alone can keep our proud civilization from a chaos in which all we hold dear will be swallowed up.

    God came down in other days and laid bare His mighty arm. He can do it again! He will do it again as soon as the saints are ready! We need a revival! Oh God, wilt Thou rend the heavens and come down to us!
