Days Of Prayer And Fasting For Herald International
How thankful we are in the Herald office for the precious brothers and sisters in Christ who labor in the work of Herald International, printing Herald editions in other languages! Their ministry is a labor of love unto the Lord and unto the readers the Lord has entrusted to them. They face a number of difficulties such as oppression from false religions and corrupt governments, the challenges related to translating, printing and distributing the Lord’s message, as well as the struggles of everyday life.
Would you be willing to strive together with them in your prayers to God for them? If so, you will certainly make a difference as the Lord graciously, faithfully and powerfully works through your intercession. We invite you to pray regularly for them, and to also join us in the following four special days of prayer and fasting for these workers and editions:
Monday, March 21st
Monday, June 20th
Monday, September 19th
Monday, December 19th
The address section below provides an overview of countries, editions and workers related to Herald International. Please include also the brothers who work with the Arabic and Urdu editions. Here are some specific requests you can pray:
Pray for physical health. A few of the editors are currently facing significant health problems. Pray for the Lord to pour His healing power into their lives. Pray for the physical well-being of all of the editors and their families.
Pray for spiritual and physical protection. A number of Herald International workers live in countries where there is active opposition to the Gospel. The Apostle Paul reminds us of the spiritual battle we are in, and he encourages us to be “watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Eph. 6:18). Ask for the Lord to protect their families and the work they do in His name.
Pray for strength. Those who are burdened excessively, even beyond their own strength, receive help from the Lord through the prayers of others (2 Cor. 1:8-11). Ask the Lord to give Herald International editors and workers supernatural strength to faithfully carry on the work He has entrusted to them. Their work can be physically and spiritually exhausting, and we can lift them before the throne of the One who “gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength” (Isa. 40:29). Pray that they “will mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isa. 40:31).
Pray for boldness. Please join us in praying that whenever workers of Herald International face opposition, that the Lord will not only protect them, but that He will fill them with the Holy Spirit and with boldness to speak His Word. “…That utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel” (Eph. 6:19).
Pray for their message to be powerful and effective. Pray that each Herald International edition will faithfully share the Word of the Lord and help teach, rebuke, correct, equip and encourage God’s people (see Second Timothy 3:16 – 4:2). Ask the Lord to guide editors in the selection of messages that will be most beneficial in accomplishing His purposes for the readers. Ask Him to anoint these editions with power to deeply impact the lives and ministries of the readers. Pray that these workers and editions will bear much fruit to the Father’s glory (John 15:8).
Pray for financial provision. A good number of the Herald International editions reach readers who have little or no financial means to help support the work, and therefore, these editions rely on outside funds. Gifts from readers in other countries are very helpful, but even these gifts are not always sufficient. Ask the Lord to meet all of the needs of Herald International according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19).
Pray for continued opportunities to share His message. Praise the Lord with us for each of the editions He has raised up to share His message, and pray for doors to remain open, and for new doors for ministry to become opened (Col. 4:3). Many of the Herald International editions are reaching places filled with false religion where Christ is not recognized and honored as the Son of God. Pray that these editions will not only strengthen and encourage the believers who currently receive these materials, but that greater opportunities will open to help bring the light of God’s message to dark places. “…Brethren, pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified…” (2 Thes. 3:1).
Pray for endurance and encouragement. The Apostle Paul reminds us that our God is able to give endurance and encouragement (Rom. 15:5). Please join us in praying that Herald International workers, in their work with the Herald and in all other aspects of their lives and ministry, will have great perseverance and encouragement to carry on faithfully in the Lord’s harvest field.
