Entrusted With The Glorious Gospel
By Lois J. Stucky
Surely we have great reason to praise our God for the way He has flooded our lives with His grace and mercy and salvation! When we consider earth’s millions and millions of souls who are thronging the broad road to destruction, we are humbled before God that we have heard and repented and believed the glorious Gospel and are saved thereby and gifted with life eternal! In the light of that, we might well ask as Paul did, with similar trembling and astonishment, “Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:6).
The Lord searches for those given over to the advancing of His will and purposes here on earth in this climaxing hour. Let us give ourselves to our calling to finish the work our divine and beloved Captain has given us to do for Him. Let us help bring back the King of kings, the King of love and righteousness, whose reign is forever and ever!
And let us strive to maintain a glowing ardor and full-hearted devotion to our Heavenly King, following wherever He leads. Walking and working in our “first love” is so precious to our Lord and Savior as to draw judgment if we fall from it! (Rev. 2:4-5).
Let us unselfishly and sacrificially put the interests of Him and His Kingdom ahead of our own, and let us prove faithful to the God who has entrusted us with the spreading of His holy and eternal Gospel!
